Strauss-Khan arrested by New York Police DepartmentStrauss-Kahn, was arrested by the New York Police Department in the international airport John F. Kennedy, when he was going off to French and attend meetings of the IMF and European finance Ministers in Brussels, scheduled for today.  This meeting will discuss the increase in the IMF loan package to Greece amounted to 110 billion euros ($ 155 billion), due to Europe’s banking crisis.

When the court case to be continues, Strauss-Kahn will face serious charges of rape trials or at least the reporting of sexual abuse of a victim, a waitress at the Hotel Sofitel in Manhattan on May 14 last, approximately at 13:00. In the suite’s room, Strauss-Kahn allegedly emerged suddenly from the bathroom, naked and forced the maid to make love.

But the maid ran to escape and notify the colleagues about the sexual assault and reported it to police, according to Paul Browne, deputy police commissioner of New York.  Straus-Kahn was detained in a cell in a special home in East Harlem, New York Police Department special unit.

But Strauss-Kahn, 62, who is also the candidate of the French President was still denying all allegations. Meanwhile, IMF spokesman William Murray, said the IMF “remains fully functional and the operational will continue as normal.”

In response to the detention of Straus-Kahn, Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet, French Environment Minister, in an interview with Canal Plus, said the arrest would hurt the country image abroad.
